What Our Wood Floor Cleaning Includes
Our wood floor service is a deep clean and finish refresh — built to remove the grime that regular mopping leaves behind:
- Deep grime removal. We lift embedded dirt, sticky residue, and buildup out of the grain and finish.
- Finish refresh. We revive dull, worn-looking areas and even out the sheen across the floor.
- Edge and corner detailing. We clean along baseboards and in corners where dust and buildup collect.
- Low-moisture process. No standing water, no soaking, no steam forced into seams or grain.
What It Is NOT: No Sanding or Refinishing
Let’s be upfront about the boundary: this is a cleaning and refresh service — not sand-and-refinish. We don’t sand your floors, change their stain color, or apply new coats of polyurethane. If your finish is worn through to bare wood, has deep gouges, or you want a different color, that’s a job for a refinishing contractor, and we’ll tell you honestly if that’s what you need. What we do best is remove the grime that’s dulling your floors and refresh the existing finish — with no dust, no fumes, and no days of downtime.
Finish Types We Work With
Most modern wood floors have a protective finish, and our process is designed to clean the finish without harming it:
- Polyurethane finishes (oil- and water-based) — the most common on site-finished floors.
- Aluminum oxide finishes — the factory finish on most prefinished hardwood.
- Other sealed hardwoods — if your floor has an intact sealed finish, we can clean it.
Not sure what finish you have? We’ll identify it during our inspection and confirm your floors are a good candidate before we start. Unfinished, wax-only, or oil-soap floors aren’t a fit for this service — and we’ll tell you that too.
Drying Expectations
Because we use a low-moisture process, your floors dry fast — typically within an hour or two, depending on airflow and humidity. You can walk on them in socks shortly after we’re done, and move furniture back the same day. No sticky residue, no waiting days to use your rooms.
Wood Floor Maintenance Tips
Keep your floors looking their best between professional cleanings:
- Sweep or dust-mop regularly. Grit is sandpaper underfoot — remove it often.
- Use a damp (not wet) mop. Never soak wood floors or leave standing water.
- Skip oil soaps and wax. They build up, attract dirt, and complicate future refinishing.
- Felt pads under furniture. Prevent the scratches that dull a finish over time.
- Clean spills promptly. Water sitting on wood is what causes damage.

Wood Floor Cleaning FAQs
Will water damage my floors?
No. Our process is designed specifically for wood: low-moisture cleaning with no standing water and no steam forced into seams or grain. Your floors are never soaked — that’s the whole point of having it done professionally instead of with a rental machine or a sopping mop.
Can you remove scratches?
Light surface scuffs in the finish often diminish significantly with our deep clean and finish refresh. Deeper scratches that go through the finish into the wood itself can’t be cleaned away — those need sanding and refinishing. We’ll give you an honest assessment during our inspection.
How is this different from refinishing?
Refinishing sands off the old finish (and some wood), then applies new stain and polyurethane — it’s dusty, takes days, and costs far more. Our service deep-cleans and refreshes your existing finish without removing any of it. If your finish is intact but dull and grimy, cleaning is all you need. If the finish is worn through, we’ll tell you refinishing is the right call.
How often should I have my wood floors deep-cleaned?
For most homes, once a year keeps grime from building up and extends the life of your finish. Homes with pets, kids, or heavy traffic do well with cleaning every 6–9 months. Regular professional cleaning costs far less than refinishing — and it puts refinishing off for years.
